5. Liability Disclaimer
Grooming involves handling animals with clippers, scissors and other equipment, and carries an inherent, low-level risk of nicks, cuts or grazes, particularly where a coat is matted, a pet has sensitive or aged skin, or a pet moves suddenly during the groom. By signing this form, the owner acknowledges and accepts this risk.
The owner confirms that, to the best of their knowledge, their pet is free from any contagious illness, disease or parasites, and that all known health conditions, allergies, injuries, temperament issues and behavioural concerns have been fully and accurately disclosed in this form.
Severely matted coats may need to be clipped short for the health and welfare of the pet. This can be close to the skin and may expose or aggravate pre-existing skin conditions, cause irritation, or increase the risk of nicks. Where de-matting or shaving is necessary, the owner accepts this as being in the pet's best interest and agrees it may proceed at the groomer's professional discretion.
Hairy Tails reserves the right to refuse, pause or stop a groom, or to use a muzzle or other humane restraint, where a pet's behaviour poses a risk to itself, our staff or other animals. No responsibility is accepted for an incomplete groom where this occurs, and normal charges may still apply for work carried out.
Should a pet become unwell, be injured, or need urgent veterinary attention while in our care, we will make every reasonable effort to contact the owner or the emergency contact named above immediately. Where a delay could endanger the pet's welfare, we may seek emergency veterinary treatment on the owner's behalf, and the owner agrees to reimburse any reasonable veterinary costs incurred as a result.
Hairy Tails accepts no liability for the aggravation of pre-existing conditions not disclosed to us, or for injury, illness or behaviour arising from information withheld or inaccurately given. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
